Five Apartments in Corsica, Cape Corsica
Nonza, near Saint Florent, 35 kms from Bastia
1 & 2 bedrooms, sleeping 2/4 or 4/6 people

The apartments*** are set on a hillside overlooking the beach at Olmeta du Cap on the west coast of Corsica. They are close to a river that runs down to the sea, where you can fish and 3 kms from Nonza, a small town perched on a sheer black cliff, with lichen-grey houses clustered around the main square. There are shops and several restaurants here and a vast deserted beach just beyond the town. Farinole 4 kms away, has a fine sandy beach with windsurfing and paramotor facilities.

St-Florent, 15 kms away, has an almost lakeside setting and life in this pleasant town revolves around the marina, the market square and the old part of the town. Alleys and steps wind between tall, honey-grey, shuttered houses along the water's edge. The port is lined with shops and restaurants and in the square, open-air eating mingles with games of pétanque and strolling crowds.

Inland from here are fertile hills and valleys encircled by mountains and an area of vineyards and orchards, meadows, olive groves and scattered villages. Many of the towns and villages reflect the island's historical connections with Italy as well as France and the food here is a mixture of both cultures.

A Sulana is a 35 km drive from Bastia and the ferry crossing from Nice takes about 3 hours.
